The Thomas Dewey Story

Movie theaters agreed to play newsreel-like campaign films supporting the two major-party candidates in the final weeks of the 1948 presidential campaign. Each campaign organization created a short feature.

The Thomas Dewey film had very high production values in part because it was shot professionally on a large budget. It reinforced a perception of the New York governor as distant and cautious.
